As learners and lesson-givers, teachers and students, we are united in our joy of learning. We cherish the life of the mind and the intrinsic value of learning for its own sake. Survey the works of Shakespeare or enjoy the finer points of bridge or mah jong, discuss philosophy and religion, appreciate the art of cinema or the wines of Sonoma and beyond. And always on the move – taking on ballroom dancing and the art of the tango and tap dance. Our travel takes us to the University of Cambridge, the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Ashland and a host of Club-sponsored tours. We also know life's most important lessons are not always found in a book or classroom. They are experienced in unexpected moments – a missed brush stroke that leads to inspired improvisation, a casual conversation that offers unexpected insights or sharing friendship and the emotional resonance of being together.
