The Club purchases a computer to handle billing and two years later a word processor to prepare the monthly Bulletin.
1984
Responding to the decreased tolerance for smoking, the Club designates smoking and non-smoking areas and phases out smoking altogether a few years later.
Due to the rising cost of speakers, members respond by creating a new Sustaining Fund to insure the high caliber of programs. Speakers include: Malcolm Forbes, Charles Osgood, Peter Duchin and Arthur Frommer.
1988
The Board creates a dedicated Capital Fund for the upkeep of the clubhouse.
1989
The end of the decade marks the 75th Anniversary of the Club and a relaxation of the formal rules of address: the titles of Miss and Mrs. are dropped in favor of members using their first and last names only.
