WUC struggles with finances and membership decline due to the Depression, but Club life is undiminished. Simple pleasures like card games and dancing are popular in addition to the many class offerings.

1932

A new associate membership category allows women without full educational requirements to participate in activities.

1935

Dorothy Falknor is the first Club President to give birth while in office.

1938

Members attend the New Year's Day Open House: with bridge in the library, dancing in the ballroom, and socializing in the drawing room — all by candlelight!

1939

The tumultuous 1930's end and the Club celebrates its 25th Anniversary with an exclusive event for club members only.
