Restoration Projects & Funding
Maintaining a 1922 historic landmark is an honor and a challenge. Restorations are funded by generous donations from the general public, 4Culture, and investment income. Projects have included:
In 2018-19:
- Fire escape restoration to meet code: $31,000
- Landscaping and maintenance of the 6th Avenue Gardens: $1,400
- Installing a new alley entrance to protect the building: $12,100
In 2020-21:
- Cleaning, tuck-pointing and sealing the brick and terra cotta south and east elevations: $91,219
- Pressure washing and painting the west face of building: $5,999
In 2021-22:
- Restoring the remaining 8 windows: $40,000
- Garden design and installation: $12,552
