Impact

The Scholarship Awards Council is responsible for awarding scholarships to graduating high school women, women in transition, and a Staff Scholarship to a Women's University Club employee.

Since 2003, the Women's University Club Foundation has awarded $427,000 to 93 scholarship recipients. In 2018-19, seven high school seniors and three Women-in-Transition were each awarded $10,000 and a Women's University Club staff member was awarded a $2,000 scholarship for a total of $102,000.

The high school scholarships are not need based and are awarded for outstanding community service in addition to academic performance. They are disbursed over a four year period. The Women-In-Transition (WIT) scholarships are awarded to students whose educations were interrupted.  The recipients are honored annually at a Brava! Celebration Dinner.

This level of giving was made possible by donations from Club members and friends and a significant bequest from an outside benefactor.  Through the efforts of dedicated Club members serving on the Scholarship Awards Selection Committee and the Scholarship Awards Council of the Foundation, we continue to administer scholarship donations, as well as the application process and disbursement of funds.
