Historic Landmark Preservation
The Historic Landmark Preservation Council preserves and protects the exterior of the Women's University Club's historical landmark structure. Our recent projects include restoring windows, pressure washing, painting and protecting the building from the south and east elevations (2020) and pressure washing and painting the west face of the building, including security bars, electrical conduits, boxes, gate (2021), and restoring the remaining 8 windows (2022).
In time for the 100th year celebration, HLP Trustees hired Nakano Associates, a Seattle landscape architecture firm, to restore the front garden. They drew up plans, created drawings and made referrals for three potential landscaping companies to remove overgrown vegetation, install new soil and plants as well as restore the sprinkler system. We chose Vertumni Fine Landscaping and Gardening to complete the project in February of 2022
